Parrita is a small town that lies on the road to Manuel Antonio. Located in an African oil palm farm, it’s the production of this edible plant oil that largely drives the town’s economy.
It’s surrounded by a number of rivers, including the Damas and Parrita. These offer white-water rapids to attempt, estuaries to explore, and some great fishing.
The total inventory of properties for sale in Parrita is among the lowest of the areas we surveyed. You’ll note that only single family homes and parcels of land are available. There are no condos for sale in Parrita.
As evidenced by the median listing prices shown above, property prices in Parrita came in at the very lowest of all the areas we surveyed.
Given the average price per bedroom for homes in Costa Rica, it’s safe to say that you could get a home as large as 4 bedrooms for that $236,000 median home price.
While land is extremely cheap in Parrita, at under $12k per acre, the median price of $1.2 million indicates the majority of those listings are very large tracts. Large-scale developers could likely find a great deal on a property to turn into an ecolodge or similar venture.
We love the idea too and have applied several off grid technologies on our projects, like Boca Chica Island in Panama.
